OPAN PREOX CARBON SELF-ADHESIVE TAPE

Short description

Description

OPAN PREOX Carbon Self-Adhesive Tape is a passive fire protection / thermal barrier tape primarily used for flame retardancy, high-temperature resistance, radiant heat protection, and surface protection.

Cordia Preox products are not just a solution; they act as a fire barrier that delays flame propagation and extends fire intervention time.

EN 13501-1 CERTIFIED

Fully compliant with legal regulations with a B-s1, d0 fire classification rating.

Description

Technical Information

Dimensions

  • 120 g/m² – 2,5 cm x 10 meters – SLIM SERIES TAPE
  • 250 g/m² – 5 cm x 10 meters – PRO SERIES TAPE
  • 500 g/m² – 10 cm x 5 meters – HEAVY SERIES TAPE

Our flame-resistant tape is resistant to temperatures up to 1000°C and is reinforced with 80 g/m² acrylic adhesive backing, supplied in tape form.

Thanks to its flexible structure, it can be applied to all types of curved surfaces, providing complete protection without compromising aesthetics.

Cordia Preox products are not merely a solution; they function as a fire barrier that delays flame spread and increases fire response time.

EN 13501-1 CERTIFIED

The B-s1, d0 classification ensures full compliance with fire safety regulations.

Product Advantages

  • Fast Installation: Easy to apply and reduces labor costs.
  • Radiant Heat Protection: Helps protect surfaces exposed to high heat.
  • Long-Term Protection: Its carbon-based structure does not rot, is moisture resistant, and retains its form over time.
  • Skin-Friendly: Safe for handling and application.
  • Zero Toxic Gas Risk: Minimizes hazardous emissions.
  • Enhanced Fire Safety: The B-s1, d0 classification (low smoke emission, non-dripping) provides significant advantages in building fire safety.

Usage and Application Areas

1. Electrical and Cable Systems

Used for:

  • Delaying flame propagation in cable trays and cable bundles
  • Providing additional protection in heat-exposed electrical panels
  • Creating fire barriers at critical cable penetrations
  • Supporting cable insulation in generator rooms, UPS rooms, and energy facilities

2. Automotive and Mobility Applications

Used in electric vehicles and internal combustion vehicles:

  • As a heat shield around exhaust systems and high-temperature areas
  • For cable and hose protection in engine compartments
  • As a thermal barrier around batteries and battery packs
  • In thermal management for racing vehicles, commercial vehicles, and custom-built vehicles

Its flexibility and ability to conform to curved surfaces provide a major advantage in automotive applications.

3. Marine and Maritime Applications

Used in:

  • Boat and yacht engine rooms
  • Exhaust line insulation areas
  • High fire-risk machine compartments as a thermal barrier
  • Cable protection systems

Its resistance to moisture and non-degrading structure make it highly valuable in marine environments.

4. Aerospace and Rail Systems

Used in rail systems such as metro vehicles and in aerospace applications:

  • Cable insulation
  • Flame-retardant surface protection
  • Low-smoke-required environments

The B-s1, d0 classification meets the safety expectations of these industries.

5. Industrial Facilities and Production Lines

Used for:

  • Minimizing heat loss around furnaces
  • Providing sealing around hot pipelines
  • High-temperature insulation in industrial machinery
  • Protecting production equipment in high fire-risk environments

Its 1000°C resistance and radiant heat protection are key advantages in industrial use.

6. Construction and Building Industry (Passive Fire Protection)

Used in:

  • Around fire doors
  • Shaft and service penetrations
  • Ventilation ducts
  • Local fire protection on metal structures
  • Elevator shafts and mechanical installation areas

The EN 13501-1 / B-s1, d0 certification, defined by European fire safety standards, is an important indicator of fire performance in construction materials.

7. Residential and Commercial Applications

Used in:

  • Around fireplaces and stoves
  • Industrial kitchen equipment
  • Protection of decorative or technical surfaces exposed to heat

Recommended Applications by Series

  • Slim Series (2.5 cm / 120 g/m²) Narrow areas, cable bundles, small surfaces
  • Pro Series (5 cm / 250 g/m²) General industrial and construction applications
  • Heavy Series (10 cm / 500 g/m²) High-risk areas, wide surfaces, and locations exposed to intense thermal loads
